Hyundai outperforms the European market with strong November sales results

Hyundai continues to outperform the European market, with sales up 41.6 percent in November 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, according to the latest data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association. At 4.4 percent, the automaker’s year-to-date market share was also up 0.9 percentage points from 2020 in the EU, EFTA and the UK.

In November 2021, 45,837 units of Hyundai vehicles were registered in Europe, an increase of 41.6 percent compared to November 2020. This compared favourably to the overall market, which was down -17.5 percent last month.

Between January to November, the company sold 472,852 units across the continent. This corresponds to an increase of 24.3 percent compared to the same period in 2020, outperforming the overall market, which was up 0.8 percent.

Hyundai’s main sales drivers included the Tucson, Kona and the company’s i-range. Other popular models are derived from the company’s future mobility lineup. This includes the Kona Electric, which is produced in Europe at the company’s Czech plant, and the Ioniq 5, which was recently named 2022 German Car of the Year and is also shortlisted for the prestigious 2022 European Car of the Year award. With multiple new product launches in recent years, Hyundai now boasts one of the youngest lineups in the industry.
