Bringing together Ferrari’s heritage of GT construction and the passion for the drive, Ferrari Far & Middle East organised an exclusive driving event - Esperienza Ferrari. Offered to Ferrari owners and select pre-owners, Esperienza Ferrari is a unique test drive event planned to allow participants to experience the prancing horse on the open road through a bespoke driving route.
Over 10 days, participants from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia flew to the land of smiles for a drive that would take them over the beautiful country roads and breath-taking sights of Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand. Pre-owners were given the opportunity to experience the 488 GTB and 488 Spider, exceptional sportscars in both engineering and sophisticated design. Featuring the twin 3902cc turbo-charged V8 that won the Overall International Engine of the Year Award, Performance Engine and New Engine categories in 2016, drivers were undoubtedly thrilled behind the wheels of the powerful and innovative Ferraris.

The drive route commenced with a passage to Doi Mae Salong; a picturesque and serene mountainous area of Chiang Rai, only six kilometers from the Burmese border. Along the way drivers enjoyed views of lovely houses with flowers and many plantations from fruits to coffee and tea. After a rested lunch at Hong Fu Boutique Resort, the drivers continued towards Choui Fong Tea; a tea plantation over half a century old. With an area of over 400 acres situated amongst the clouds, drivers relaxed over tea while snapping photographs for memorabilia. Departing from the mountains, the drivers made their second last stop of the day at Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple, a magnificent, contemporary art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple. Closing the eventful day, the drivers were treated to a graceful 10,000 feet ride to panoramic views of Chiang Rai in a hot air balloon.
"I am certain that everyone took away an unforgettable drive," said Dieter Knechtel, CEO, Ferrari Far & Middle East. "Ferrari makes some of the world’s most powerful and beautiful cars and it is most befitting that this event, Esperienza Ferrari, allows owners and owners-to-be to experience the cars in a very special way."
