On February 9, Mazda decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall campaign to address a concern with 2010-2011 Mazda3 and 2011 Mazda2 vehicles equipped with a driver’s side manual seat lifter.
On the driver seat, due to insufficient strength of the seat height adjustment lifter link, or incorrect attachment method of the lifter link push nuts, the lifter link may become cracked or the lifter link push nuts may become separated.
Approximately 173,859 units in North American are affected. These include 2010-2011 Mazda3, 2010-2011 Mazdaspeed3 and 2011 Mazda2. As of February 6, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries.
