Ford DSFL Mexico concludes successfully in four cities

According to the Pan American Health Organization, Mexico ranks seventh worldwide in deaths from traffic accidents, which remain the leading cause of death among young Mexicans. Faced with this worrying scenario, Ford introduced the second edition of its safe driving program, Ford Driving Skills for Life (Ford DSFL), in the country to create awareness of this problem among young students from different universities.

After a successful tour through the main Mexican cities (Queretaro, Leon, Mexico City and Puebla), and the participation of 12 public and private universities, Ford and the nonprofit Enactus doubled the attendance of students to the conferences, the awareness campaigns and practices imparted by professional drivers versus the prior year.

Gabriel Lopez, president and CEO of Ford of Mexico, handed the distinctive "Safe Driving to Life" to the participating university authorities. He also recognized the commitment of the institutions involved with the DSFL program to maintain awareness campaigns among college students.

The professional drivers accompanied 1,600 students during the experience in a safe and controlled environment, where the students practiced the following skills: simulated impaired driving, distracted driving, hazard recognition and vehicle handling.
