Lincoln had another great month with U.S. sales up 7 percent in May. This is the sixth straight month of sales gains for Lincoln.
U.S. Analyst Erich Merkle said Lincoln’s newest vehicles - the MKC, MKX and MKZ, which is just starting to arrive in dealer showrooms - have and are really hitting a positive chord with customers.
The all-new MKX did exceptionally well in May with sales up 88 percent, helping Lincoln post its best May SUV sales since 2003.
Merkle said women are driving demand for Lincoln’s newest vehicles - particularly the brand’s luxurious SUV offerings.
"Lincoln registrations among women have increased 45 percent in the last decade, which is twice the rate of the overall luxury industry," he said, noting that the MKC is particularly popular among female buyers. "Women represent 50 percent of MKC sales."
