Following a record year in 2015, Infiniti carried its momentum into 2016 setting a new sales record for January. The company sold more than 15,600 vehicles around the world, a slight increase of 1 percent over January 2015.
This marks the best January result ever for Infiniti globally as well as the 17th consecutive month with year-on-year growth on record.
The global result is driven by all-time high January results in many regions and key markets, such as China, Western Europe, Mexico, Latin America, Middle East, South Korea, Australia and Asia and Oceania overall.
In China, Infiniti sold 3,600 vehicles in January, up 36 percent from the same month last year. Infiniti continues to be one of the fastest-growing premium brands in China.
Sales in Western Europe were exceptionally strong with more than 800 vehicles sold in January, an increase of 75 percent over January 2015. The all-new Q30 (QX30 in the U.S.) Active Compact has started to arrive at Infiniti showrooms across Europe.
In the Americas (U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America), sales were impacted by weather related business closedown on the East Coast mid-month. As a consequence, deliveries were slightly behind the previous year with a total 9,500 vehicles sold in January 2016.
In A&O (Australia, Korea, Taiwan and other markets), Infiniti sold about 670 vehicles in January, an increase of 59 percent compared to the same month in 2015. In Korea, the brand sold over 390 vehicles, an increase of 142 percent year over year.
