Audi has announced that they will be releasing a new A6 allroad model. A spin-off from the popular executive range, the allroad attempts to combine the best qualities of a premium estate vehicle with an SUV. This latest top-of-the-range Sport trim level will start at £4,050 more than the base model and offer a number of additional features.
External changes
While Audi originally introduced the A6 allroad for customers looking for the opportunity to do some light off-road driving, this latest model looks to introduce some more premium features into the range. The most immediate change to the new Sport spec are the 19-inch alloy wheels that come in a matte titanium finish as standard. Further changes to the exterior include the inclusion of LED headlights for both the front and back indicators.

A heads-up display that utilises thermal imaging to warn drivers of pedestrians during night-time driving will also be made available as an option as will Matrix LED headlights fitted with 64 separate projectors to better adjust to different lighting conditions. Heading inside we see the inclusion of electronically adjustable "Valcona" leather front seats and Alcantara-trimmed door inserts. Standard models will also include four-zone air conditioning and Audi’s own AMI music interface system with SD card compatibility.
Internal changes
All of the engine options remain the same as the original A6 allroad, with buyers able to choose from a range of three 3.0-liter 6-cylinder TDI diesel engines. The 215 hp and 268 hp engines both come with a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, while the 316 hp model gives you an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. The 316 hp option can get you from 0-62 mph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
Audi rated the official fuel economy of the BiTDI model as 43.5 mpg, which real-world testing acknowledged to be accurate. This increases to 50.4 mpg for the 215 hp model and 51.4 mpg for the 268 hp spec. Prices originally ranged from £45,555 to £51,775, with the new Sport trim starting at £55,825.
Now that there's a new model on the market, we can now expect originals to start appearing at lower prices on used outlets in the near future. Take a look here to get a better idea about what's available in your area and keep an eye out for any upcoming deals.
