The first 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang has rolled off the assembly line at the Flat Rock plant, Michigan.
Originally unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, the GT350R Mustang is the most athletic Mustang ever, designed to tackle the world’s most challenging roads and race tracks while creating an exhilarating experience for the driver.
Motivation is provided by a 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8 engine which develops 526 hp and 580 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.
"This is a special day for all Mustang enthusiasts," said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company. "We have taken the GT350 formula to the next level of innovation, style and performance. Today the legend continues."
