Audi has announced the 2016 A3 Sportback e-tron will have a starting price of $37,900 in the United States when it goes on sale in October.
The A3 Sportback e-tron features a 1.4-liter TSFI petrol engine, an electric motor and an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This allows the car to offer a combined maximum output of 204 hp and 350 Nm of torque.
Audi declined to release U.S. performance specifications but the Euro-spec version can accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 222 km/h. It consumes 1.5-liter / 100 km and can travel up to 50 km on electricity alone.
The model features xenon plus headlights, a panoramic sunroof and 16-inch alloy wheels. There's also a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a dual-zone automatic climate control system and an MMI infotainment system with a 7-inch display.
