Ford has recently announced a $220 million new cycle of investments for the company's operations in Argentina through next year.

This investment is for upgrading vehicles currently manufactured in Argentina as the exclusive source for customers throughout Mercosur region, modernizing its production plant at General Pacheco and delivering an aggressive plan for developing local auto parts with suppliers, representing approximately 28 percent of the newest investment.

Including this newest investment, Ford has invested $770 million between 2011-2016 in its Argentina operations.

In 2014, Ford was the No. 1 automaker in vehicle production and exports in Argentina, boosted sales and significantly increased its market share to 14.1 percent. During the first quarter of 2015, Ford Argentina continues to be the country’s top vehicle producer, further increasing its market share in the country to 14.8 percent.

"Continued investment in new products and quality is a key element of our plan to continue growing in the region. Providing Ford operations in the country with modern manufacturing technology and the latest generation high-quality products makes a statement about our commitment to Argentina, now 102 years strong," concluded Steven Armstrong, President Ford South America.
