Acura has announced the 2016 RDX will have a starting price of $35,270 when it goes on sale in the United States on April 16.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the facelifted RDX features modified bumpers, new Jewel Eye LED headlights and a new three-dimensional grille treatment. There's also restyled LED taillights with light-pipe design and updated alloy wheels.

Interior changes are limited, but there's high-contrast silver trim and additional standard equipment including heated front seats and new second-row air-conditioning vents.

Customers can also order a new line-topping Advance Package that adds rain-sensing wipers, front fog lights, front / rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming driver's side mirror and a navigation system.

Motivation is provided by a new 3.5-liter V6 engine which produces 279 hp and 341 Nm of torque - an increase of 6 hp and 1 Nm. It is mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission which allows the crossover to return 20 mpg city / 29 mpg highway with front-wheel drive and 19 mpg city / 28 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.
