Caterham has recently launched three new versions of the iconic Seven sports car.
Already available for order in the United Kingdom, the 270, 360 and 420 versions deliver accessible fun through the traditional Caterham minimalistic, lightweight approach to sports car engineering. The three new vehicles sit between the entry-level Seven 160 and the supercharged 620R, the most powerful production Seven ever built.
The Seven 270 is powered by the latest-generation 1.6-liter Ford Sigma engine with variable-valve timing technology and offering 135 hp. Next is the Seven 360 which uses a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec petrol engine with 180 hp. Finally, the Seven 420 is also powered by the 2.0-liet Ford Duratec engine, although benefitting from modifications which offer 210 hp.
The British carmaker has also introduced two new equipment packages, which are available on all models. The new S and R packs offer specially-tailored trim and equipment packages to suit both road and track drivers.
The S package is geared towards the casual road driver and includes creature comforts such as a fully-carpeted cockpit, full windscreen, hood and side screens and leather seats. Meanwhile, the R package is more track-focused, whilst retaining its road car status by offering limited-slip differential, sports suspension and a four-point race harness.
