Cadillac has just introduced their new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, which will be one of the industry’s most advanced 6-cylinder gasoline engines.
Designed to achieve new thresholds of refinement and specific output for the upcoming CT6 luxury performance sedan, the engine produces approximately 400 hp and 543 Nm of torque, making it one of the most power-dense V6 DOHC engines in the world, developing 133 hp per liter.
It is the only 6-cylinder engine to combine turbocharging with cylinder deactivation and stop/start technologies to conserve fuel. Cadillac expects the combination to enhance fuel economy by up to an estimated 6 percent.
The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine will go into production later this year at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant in Michigan.
