To mark the 50th anniversary of the 911 Targa, Porsche has officially unveiled the 911 Targa 4 GTS at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

According to the German carmaker, the 911 Targa 4 GTS features a sportier front bumper, tinted bi-xenon headlights and wider rear fenders. There's also aerodynamic mirrors, a sports exhaust system and gloss black 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

Interior changes are relatively limited, but there's black Alcantara upholstery and four-way adjustable Sport Plus seats, providing additional lateral support and long-distance cruising comfort for driver and passenger.

Motivation is provided by a 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine which produces 430 hp and 440 Nm of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 300 km/h.

Besides the upgraded engine, the sports car also has a PASM chassis and the Sport Chrono package.

The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS will be launched in Germany in March and pricing starts at €137,422 (including value added tax and country-specific features).
