According to a recent report, Japanese carmaker Lexus will introduce the 2016 RX at the New York Auto Show in April.
Edmunds is reporting the redesigned RX will go on sale later this year and continue to be based on the same platform which underpins the 2015 Toyota Camry. It will compete with such vehicles as the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Lincoln MKX and Volvo XC90.
Under the hood, the crossover will be powered by a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces approximately 270 hp. However, the six-speed automatic transmission could be replaced by a new eight-speed gearbox.
