In a recent interview, Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the Board of Management of Audi AG and head of Audi’s Technical Development, has announced the second-generation Audi Q7 will be officially revealed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at this year's Paris Motor Show, he said "if you make a trip to Detroit, you’ll see it". Most likely the all-new Q7 will make its world debut on January 12, 2015, when the press days of the motor show will be held.
The 2015 Q7 will be based on VW’s MLB platform which benefits from the usage of lightweight yet strong materials like high-tensile strength aluminium. It is expected to be lighter than its predecessor by around 360 kg, making for a more dynamic and economical driving experience.
