Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the FUSO brand in Vietnam on October 9 under a new organization and brand identity.
Henceforward, Mercedes-Benz has become the exclusive importer, manufacturer and distributor for all FUSO products in the Vietnam market. This brand launch was witnessed by the top officials from Daimler Trucks Asia, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam’s management and 250 distinguished guests from the Vietnamese government, press, and business partners.
"Truck business is an opportunity for us. We now join the race and face many competitive truck brands as a market challenger, at the same time we make our business more sustainable and stable. Trucks will in future be the second pillar of our business in Vietnam, next to our established and renown passenger car business," shared Michael Behrens, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam.
In the past, FUSO trucks only served the light-duty truck segment with its “Canter”. Now, additionally, the medium-duty-truck Fighter and the Heavy-duty-truck Tractor are on offer to satisfy diversified customer’s demands in Vietnam. This August, the first FUSO Fighter ever built in Vietnam was rolled out from the Mercedes-Benz factory. The first lots of Fighter with 44 units were fully-booked by customers. Moreover, aiming at building a friendly and vivid image of FUSO, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam added two more cabin colors for FUSO products beside the traditional white (light blue and silver).
At Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, the Japanese technology of FUSO will be backboned by advanced facilities and assembly lines. For example, for the first time FUSO truck body frames will be plated by the most advanced Zircobond electro-dipping coating technology worldwide enhancing the heat-proof and corrosion-resistant. Moreover, with the German-Vietnamese management who are accustomed to highest CSI standards, the FUSO brand will further strengthen customer service level across the organization, including dealer network.
In terms of network, FUSO has established 11 dealers in Vietnam with 7 dealers in the South, 2 dealers in the Centre and 2 in the North. Most of them fulfill the “Autohaus 100” standard of Daimler AG. FUSO plans to add more dealers in 2015.
