Kia has officially introduced at the Chengdu Motor Show the production version of the K4 concept, which will be offered exclusively in China.
It rides on the same platform as the Hyundai Mistra and will be produced in Yancheng in Jiansu province where Dongfeng Yueda Kia's factory is located. Two petrol engines will be available at launch, including a 1.8-liter with 146 hp and 175 Nm and a 2.0-liter with 162 hp and 194 Nm. Later on a 175 hp 1.6-liter turbo will be added to the lineup.
Targeted at family-oriented clients who are in their 30s and 40s, the K4 has a starting price of 140,000 yuan ($22,500) and up to 180,000 yuan ($29,000) for the range-topping version.
