Mercedes-Benz has marked its 10th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy in Vietnam with a special version taking place for the first time in Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang city from September 19, 2014. The event brings an opportunity for customers in the Middle to experience Mercedes-Benz’s latest 17 models. Especially, by simulating 7 famous terrains of Vietnam, the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy will help customers to enhance their driving skills with the profound training of international instructors. This will be a valuable lesson so that drivers can courageously overcome all Vietnam’s terrains in future.
The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is the only driving course in Vietnam being organized annually in large scale. Through 10 years of development in Vietnam, the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has trained and certified more than 2,500 customers nationwide. Under the support of racing experts and safety technologies integrated on Mercedes-Benz cars, more than 2,500 customers have completed the course completely and safely without any major incident.
"Exclusivity or premium reputation is meaningless if we stay far away from customers. To get their favor and loyalty for the brand, we stay approachable to our valued customers with the annual activities like Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy. On this 10th anniversary of the event, we bring this exclusive experience to customers in the Middle, with both On & Off-Road exercises. Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy can be seen as the strongest proof for ‘Exclusive & Approachable’ character of our Modern Luxury direction," said Dirk Adelmann, Sales & Marketing Director of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam.
This year's Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy includes three major contents: Utilizing ABS/BAS systems (split-friction), Lane-changing on slippery surfaces (to test ESP and Pre-Safe systems) and the Off-road exercise so-called Viet Nam 3600.
The highlight is the Viet Nam 3600 Off-road exercise. By stimulating 7 different terrains from all areas, including Dong Van plateau, Bao Loc hill, Ba Na hills, Cu Chi tunnel, Mekong delta… the course offers diversified and complete Off-Road experience in Vietnam. With the support of racing experts, drivers will conquer every type of terrains. This is truly show-case for such safety technologies like the 4MATIC drivetrain, the Electronic Traction System (4-ETS), the Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) or The Electronic Stability Programme ESP.
"This is the first time we combine On-Road and Off-Road exercises as well as combine many terrains in the Off-Road content. The sophistication and the diversity of terrain require very good instinctive reflex of drivers and the reliability of safety features on the cars. My team will do our best to help all of you to accomplish this course, but at the same time to enjoy much fun," shared the Chief Instructor Peter Hackett, the 2012 Australia GT Championship winner.
Especially, this is the first time that customers having chance to hold the steering wheels of 4 attractive cars of Mercedes-Benz, including the CLA 200, SLK 350 Roadster, S400 and G300 Professional.
"Having owned a Mercedes-Benz for a long time, I didn’t have much chance to explore those helpful technologies as I drove mainly in city. I wish I had attended this course even earlier. I personally like the Lane-changing on slippery surfaces exercise, the car was absolutely stable and balanced with ESP. Also, I really love the G-Class and feel excited to drive this legend in Vietnam," said dancer Chi Anh who is driving CLA 250.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is expected to offer training and issue certifications for over 300 customers in the Middle area.
