On September 15, Audi officially started operations in Cambodia. Conveniently and centrally located on Monivong Boulevard at the corner with Street 422 in Phnom Penh, Audi Phnom Penh is designed with the latest architectural Audi Terminal concept for showroom and workshop. As premium cars customers needs are evolving worldwide, the Audi Terminal is the latest architectural concept developed by Audi AG to cater for the needs of more demanding premium customers worldwide. The Audi Terminal proposes a radical new design on 2,200 square meters to cater for customers needs in terms of showroom, spare parts and workshop, with fully Audi trained personnel.
The building exterior design underlines the progressive, sporty and sophisticated design of the Audi brand and its products in an aluminium showcase. Imported from Australia, the aluminium façade is a piece of art in itself. Audi Phnom Penh meets AUDI AG’s strictest international corporate standards on human resources, equipment, infrastructure, showroom and workshop design.
Yoon Han Chin - AUDI AG Regional Architect based in Singapore - who followed the project from design up to completion declares: "The Audi Terminal in Singapore received the 'Best Retail Architecture' in Singapore from International Property Awards 2014 and 'Best Retail Store Design', from MIPIM Asia Gold Award in 2013; we followed the same principles and attention to details for the design and construction for Audi Phnom Penh. We now made it in the Kingdom of Cambodia and really appreciate the eye catching and striking outlook of Audi Phnom Penh, a new member of the over 400 Audi Terminal family worldwide."
The showroom interior design based on a curve reinforces the dynamic feeling and sporty design of Audi cars displayed in the showroom. All showroom and workshop furniture is imported to establish a unique experience that is 100% Audi. Eight new Audi cars can be displayed in a dynamic way in front of a curve wall background along the street. The plush interior design reinforces the comfortable and progressive feeling Audi customers appreciate aboard their Audi car.
Furniture and interior design elements have been imported from AUDI AG’s selected suppliers worldwide. Audi signage comes from Germany, the aluminium facade from Australia, the lights are from Singapore and the Audi specific tiles from premium tiles supplier Fiandre in Italy. In the workshop, the translucent doors came from Germany like most of the workshop tools and equipments.
Diagnostic tools via computers are first performed in the direct reception area. Four lifts on seven work bays are dedicated for direct reception, mechanical check-up, maintenance or repair works. In the warehouse, Audi genuine spare parts and accessories are stored over two floors to ensure availaibility for prompt service at the workshop. All Audi models imported by Audi Cambodia official importer benefit from two years warranty with no limit on mileage during that period.
AUDI AG and main shareholder CFAO Group came to Cambodia to join forces for the launch of Audi Cambodia at the inauguration of Audi Phnom Penh. With a total investment exceeding $2 million, the new showroom features new cars showroom, mechanical workshop and spare parts warehouse over 2,200 square meters.
French CFAO Group, the main shareholder in the joint-venture, appointed CFAO expatriate Charles-Edouard Cambournac as Operations Director for Automotive Asia (Cambodia) Limited (Audi Cambodia). Other CFAO expatriates managing Cambodia operations from Audi Vietnam include Cedric Guillaume - CFO - and Laurent Genet - chairman.
At the opening, Audi Phnom Penh launched the muscular Audi Q7 and the new luxurious Audi A8L - both featuring the latest powerful and fuel efficient 3.0L TFSI V6 engine and quattro transmission.
