Aston Martin has officially unveiled the V12 Vantage S Roadster, which will arrive in markets around the world later this year.
Billed as the company's most potent, fastest and fastest-accelerating series production roadster to date, the new sports car follows in the broad tyre tracks of the V12 Vantage S Coupe which was launched to worldwide acclaim in 2013. It features a ventilated hood, flared wheel arches, carbon fiber components, black or titanium silver accents and an aggressive grille that is inspired by the remarkable CC100 Speedster concept.
Inside, the cabin comes with new seat and door trim as well as an optional carbon fiber package which adds carbon fiber door pulls and black alloy pedals, enhancing personalisation options for those in search of a truly bespoke sports car.
For the V12 Vantage S Roadster, the British carmaker is introducing a Q by Aston Martin Collection which comprises bespoke features that are entirely in keeping with the character of the car. This includes a palette of bold exterior and interior colors; body coloured carbon bonnet louvres, a red tint or satin finish to the carbon fiber elements on the exterior and interior, a full carbon fibre centre console, black anodized switchgear and a steering wheel with a leather on-centre stripe in the chosen interior accent color.
Motivation is provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine which produces 565 hp and 620 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed Sportshift III transmission that allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 323 km/h.
Speaking of performance, the model has a three-stage adaptive damping system, a three-stage dynamic stability control system and a two-stage anti-lock braking system. Other highlights include carbon ceramic brakes, a whole new lightweight exhaust system and a Sport mode, controlled via a button on the centre console, which alters throttle response, gearshift speed and timing, and exhaust note to, once again, tune the character of the car to the driver’s requirements.
"The new roadster is truly a treat for the senses with, underlying all this, the capacity to deliver one of the most dynamic, exciting and stirring driving experiences in our current range," said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Director of Design. "I'm sure the V12 Vantage S Roadster will appeal to luxury sports car enthusiasts worldwide who want to add a truly exceptional new model to their garage."
