Volkswagen has recently released a new teaser image of the 2015 Passat, which is set to be introduced next month.
The German carmaker confirmed the model will be powered by a twin-turbo 2.0-liter TDI engine that produces 240 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and an all-wheel drive system which could allow it to return approximately 5 L/100km (47 mpg US or 56.4 mpg UK).
In addition, the Passat will also be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain which includes a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine and a 102 hp electric motor. This powertrain will give the car a combined maximum output of 204 hp and an electric-only range of 50 km.
