MINI has unveiled at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este the Superleggera Vision concept, which expresses "the most minimalist and emotional style of motoring."

Jointly developed with Touring Superleggera, the stylish two-seat roadster features a hand-crafted body with a soft curves and a bespoke Como Blue paint job. It also has a hexagonal grille, two circular headlights, carbon fiber reinforced plastic side sills and a distinctive rear fin.

For the interior, it's back to basics with a minimalistic approach that allows the owner to focus on driving. Highlights include sporty bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, an analog clock and aluminum-covered dashboard.

Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design, said "Touring Superleggera and MINI have much in common: both companies attach great importance to their history and this is something which defines their outward appearance to this day. What is more, they both emphasise iconic design and distinctive solutions. These elements are merged in the MINI SuperleggeraTM Vision to create an elegant automobile which interprets a British roadster under the influence of Italian style and hand craftsmanship."

The British carmaker did not mention anything about the car's powerplant.
