Lamborghini Urus could feature a turbocharged engine

Lamborghini Urus concept

Lamborghini CEO has revealed the production version of the Urus concept could be powered by a turbocharged engine.

Speaking to Auto Express, Stephan Winkelmann said the Urus - due in 2017- could become the first turbocharged model in the company’s history. Additional information is limited, but the crossover is likely to be fitted with a high-performance version of Audi's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.

Winkelmann also explained why he has decided to build the Urus instead of the 2008 Estoque concept. "We showed the Estoque just before the financial crisis, and when we came back to the idea of a third model saloon sales were dying while the SUV market is now hundreds of thousands. My father would buy a saloon, but I would buy an SUV."
