Citing company insiders, Bimmer Post is reporting the highly-anticipated BMW M2 has been approved for production.
Specifically, the model is said to go into production in the fall of 2015 and will be delivered to customers at the end of 2015 or early 2016. It is reportedly codenamed "pyrat2" and will be known as the F87.
Additional information is limited, but the website has also indicated the M2 will use a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine which produces approximately 370-380 hp, making the M2 44-54 hp more powerful than the M235i Coupe which can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds with the optional 8-speed automatic transmission.
