Audi has just introduced at the 35th International Vienna Motor Symposium the 3.0-liter V6 TDI Clean Diesel engine, which satisfies the most stringent of emissions legislation, including the Euro 6 standard.

This engine features a 90-degree cylinder bank angle and a displacement of 2,967 cc. It will be offered in two states of tune, 218 hp and 272 hp, and depending on the model, peak torque can reach up to 600 Nm.

Although being significantly more powerful than its predecessor, the turbocharged V6 engine - again depending on the model - is up to 13 percent more fuel efficient and emits 15 grams per 100 km. This is why Audi decided to slap the "clean diesel" suffix.

"The new 3.0 TDI substantiates our claim as the leader in diesel technology," said Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, Technical Development. "We have led the competition ever since the first TDI engine 25 years ago, and are constantly extending this lead with new ideas."
