BMW will introduce an updated version of the X5 eDrive concept at the 2014 New York Auto Show on April 16.

According to the German carmaker, the further refined X5 eDrive concept still uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine with 245 hp working together with a 95 hp electric motor. This setup allows the concept to offer a combined output of 272 hp.

The model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 7 seconds and average 3.8 L/100km (61.8 mpg US or 74.3 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of less than 90 g/km. On electricity alone, it can travel up to 30 km at speeds up to 120 km/h.

Chances are the production version of the X5 eDrive concept will make its debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
