Chevrolet has just introduced at the Beijing Motor Show the next-generation Cruze, which is designed to set new benchmarks in the segment for fuel economy, handling and intelligent technology.
Inspired by the Tru concept, the 2016 Cruze rides on a brand-new architecture and offers the first expression of the company's next-generation design language characterized by the slogan "Design with a Heartbeat." It has a "dual-mesh" grille, sweptback headlights, a rakish windscreen and chrome-plated trim.
Under the hood, two different engines will be available, including a turbocharged 1.4-liter and a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter. Both engines can be mated to a variety of transmissions including an all-new seven-speed DCG dual-clutch transmission, a six-speed manual gearbox and a S6 six-speed automated manual transmission.
The American carmaker says the powertrains provide best-in-class fuel economy, ride comfort, emissions and quiet performance. The 2016 Cruze is expected to deliver a fuel economy improvement of 14-21 percent compared with its predecessor.
