Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the SL 400, which is designed to replace the SL 350.
According to the German carmaker, the SL 400 is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 333 hp between 5,250 to 6,000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque between 1,600 to 4,000 rpm. That's 27 hp and 110 Nm more powerful than its predecessor.
The Euro 6-compliant engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission which allows the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. In terms of efficiency, the model returns 7.3-liter / 100 km (32.2 mpg US or 38.6 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 172 g/km.
In Germany, the Mercedes-Benz SL 400 has a starting price of €97,282.50 including 19 percent VAT.
