New details are starting to emerge about the BMW M2 which is expected to hit showrooms sometime in 2016.
Accordingly, the M2 will be powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.0-liter straight-six found under the hood of the M235i. However, while the M235i offers 326 hp, the M2 will reportedly develop between 380 hp and 400 hp. It is mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic.
In terms of styling, the M2 will feature an aerodynamic body kit with a hood bulge, more aggressive side skirts, flared wheel arches, air diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Meanwhile, the cabin comes with bucket seats, a sport steering wheel and carbon fiber trim.
