BMW M2 coming in 2016

New details are starting to emerge about the BMW M2 which is expected to hit showrooms sometime in 2016.

Accordingly, the M2 will be powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.0-liter straight-six found under the hood of the M235i. However, while the M235i offers 326 hp, the M2 will reportedly develop between 380 hp and 400 hp. It is mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic.

In terms of styling, the M2 will feature an aerodynamic body kit with a hood bulge, more aggressive side skirts, flared wheel arches, air diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Meanwhile, the cabin comes with bucket seats, a sport steering wheel and carbon fiber trim.
