According to Autocar, Infiniti has begun an engineering feasibility project to explore whether the Q50 Eau Rouge concept could be made.

Details are limited, but Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen said "This is now an official project" and "There are many things to look at, details like the different vibration harmonics that result when you take an engine designed for one application and fit it in another."

The Japanese carmaker will build at least one prototype to discover the engineering work that is needed to fit the V6 engine from the GT-R into the saloon with a traditional seven-speed automatic gearbox.

As a small reminder, the Q50 Eau Rouge concept has a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine which produces 568 hp and 600 Nm of torque. It is linked to a seven-speed gearbox and an all-wheel drive system that could allow the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in less than 4 seconds and hit a top speed of approximately 289 km/h.
