The much-anticipated Citroën DS3 Cabrio Racing is now on sale in the United Kingdom where it has a starting price of £29,305. Production will be limited to 100 units and only 10 of them are reaching UK market in a right-hand drive configuration.
Motivation is provided by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder THP turbocharged gasoline engine which produces 207 hp. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 233 km/h.
Compared to the regular variant, the DS3 Cabrio Racing receives a number of modifications including:
- Re-mapping of the engine control unit (ECU)
- Modified sports exhaust system & sports silencer
- Modified turbo system with integrated carbon-trimmed components & specialist motor sports equipment
- High-performance suspension with adapted front & rear shock absorbers (to handle the increased power)
- Widening of the front & rear tracks by 30 mm - plus lowering the car by 15 mm
- Revised steering mapping & a modified steering control system
- Up-rated braking system, including 4-piston racing callipers at the front
- Switchable Electronic Stability Control programme (S.ESC) to complement the sports handling, which can be deactivated according to the driver’s preference.
The model is based on the DSport trim so comes equipped with an eight-speaker sound system, LED daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, a Bluetooth system with USB socket, as well as automatic digital air conditioning and Alcantara-wrapped seats with red stitching.
