BMW has officially unveiled the M4 MotoGP Safety Car, ahead of its motorsport debut on March 23 in Qatar.

According to the German carmaker, the safety car is equipped with an assortment of M Performance Parts, including a front splitter, a black grille, aerodynamic side skirts, carbon mirror caps, a rear diffuser, a rear spoiler and a titanium exhaust system. It also has a new hood and an LED light bar.

Inside, the cabin comes with Recaro racing seats, Schroth belts, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and a carbon gear knob. There's also stainless steel pedals, M Performance floor mats, a roll bar and a fire extinguisher.

Motivation is provided by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine which produces 431 hp and 550 Nm of torque. This allows the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds with the six-speed manual or in 4.1 seconds with the optional seven-speed M DCT. Top speed is electronically-limited to 250 km/h, but BMW also offers an optional M Driver's Package which raises the limiter to 280 km/h.
