Next-generation Bugatti Veyron to have more power

In a recent interview, Volkswagen Group chief Martin Winterkorn has revealed some new details about the next-generation Bugatti Veyron.

Speaking to Autocar, Winterkorn said "The Galibier is officially dead. We won’t do it. In its place will be a second-generation Veyron with more power."

Previously, Bugatti President Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber has said the model is already under development and has to "redefine the benchmarks" set by the current Veyron.

When asked if whether the car will resort to hybrid technology, Schreiber responded with an inconclusive "maybe". He continued, "But it’s too early to open the door and show you what we have planned. For now we have to keep the focus on the current Veyron, and help people to understand that this really is the last opportunity to get the car, which will have run for ten years from 2005-2015. Then we will close this chapter and open another one."
