The first official images of the McLaren 650S have leaked to the web, ahead of its debut next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Developed to slot between the standard MP4-12C and the range-topping P1, the 650S will be powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine which now produces 650 hp, exactly 25 hp more than the 12C.

The Sunday Times mentions that all "go-fast bits" from the 12C, including aerodynamics, suspension, tires, brakes and transmission have been uprated for the 650S.

While speaking about this, McLaren confirmed that sales of the 12C could fall as customers demand the latest and greatest in this fast moving industry. In other words, the 650S could eventually replace the 12C in the range if it’s more successful.
