Five amazing new cars set for release in 2014

2013 saw the first signs of recovery within the motor industry. Car manufacturers began to find the confidence to release more experimental car models. 2014 will be continuing in this fashion, with some exciting new cars set to be hitting the market.

Here are the five that we are most excited about:

Mini Hatchback

Mini Hatchback

Obviously, the design hasn’t changed too much, but the interior definitely has. This car is larger than its predecessors, meaning there is more room for passengers and luggage.

Despite the size increase, this car is still a true Mini. Its handling is still responsive and performance levels are still exactly how they should be. Buyers will have a choice of three trim levels initially, with more expected to be added to the range in time. Keep a look out for the new Mini on the roads in early March.

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan Qashqai

The Qashqai has been Nissan’s flagship for many years now, with sales remaining consistently high. The second generation model has been highly anticipated since its announcement.

The first thing you will notice is that the styling has been updated massively, the lines are sleeker and the profile is lower. The new model will only be available with five doors and five seats, although other configurations could be added further along the line. The new Qashqai is set to be available from January.

Porsche Macan

Porsche Macan

Porsche’s experimental foray into the SUV market was a huge success, with the Cayenne being one of their most popular and well-recieved models. The Macan is a smaller SUV in the same style.

Coming with a choice of three different engines, the Macan will not be short on power; outputs will range from 245-395 hp. Prices will be quite high, starting at over £40,000. The Macan will hit the sales floor in the middle of 2014.

BMW i8

BMW i8

Already in the pipeline for 2014 is the BMW i3 city car, an eco-friendly hatchback offering a huge range from its hybrid drivetrain. Although the i3 is exciting in its own right, the i8 is the car that has enthusiasts itching to get behind the wheel.

Boasting 354 hp, this is set to be one of the highest performing BMWs to date. Despite impressive performance, BMW claim the car will still do over 70 mpg.

Ford EcoSport

Ford EcoSport

The Ford EcoSport is a family crossover set to hit the market in late 2014. Details are still vague on the specifications of this vehicle. The eco crossover market is extremely competitive, so it will be interesting to see how Ford sets its car apart from the pack.

As you can see, 2014 is going to be a great year for car lovers!
