New details are starting to emerge about the 2016 Audi A5, which will reportedly be unveiled later this year before going on sale in early 2015.
According to Car & Driver, the redesigned A5 will have an evolutionary exterior, a futuristic interior and tech gadgetry including LED headlights, a head-up display and autonomous driving functionality.
It is expected to ride on the second iteration of the Volkswagen Group’s MLB modular-longitudinal architecture, which is known as MLB Evo. The car will be 90.7 kg lighter than its predecessor thanks to the use of more aluminum.
Engine options remain a mystery but will likely include upgraded versions of the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and supercharged 3.0-liter V6. Meanwhile, the range-topping RS5 could use a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.
