Ford has auctioned the first 2015 Mustang at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona over the weekend.
The final bid was a respectable $300,000 and all proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the country’s leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
The winning bidder can choose from any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by the American carmaker before the new Mustang rolls off the assembly line in the coming months.
Regardless of what they choose, the first Mustang will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine which develops more than 420 hp and 528 Nm of torque. It can be mated to improved automatic and manual transmissions.
