Volkswagen has unveiled the production version of the Passat Performance concept shown at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.
Named the Passat Sport, the production model takes a number of design cues from the concept but is distinguished by 19-inch Luxor wheels, a rear spoiler and fog lights. Three exterior colors are available: Candy White, Tungsten Silver and an exclusive Urano Gray. In which, Candy White and Tungsten Silver come with a black roof and black mirror caps.
Inside, the cabin has sport comfort seats, carbon trim accents and alloy pedals. Other highlights include a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, heated front seats, stainless steel door sills and Sport-specific floor mats.
Motivation is provided by a 1.8-liter EA888 Gen 3 turbocharged and direct-injection four-cylinder engine which produces 170 hp and 249 Nm of torque. It can be mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Passat Sport will arrive in showrooms early this year and pricing starts at $27,295, including $820 destination and handling.
