The 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG has officially made its public debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
According to the German carmaker, the high-performance version of the GLA is powered by a Euro 6-compliant 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine which develops 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque, driving all four wheels via a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT transmission. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Compared to the standard GLA, the AMG version comes with aggressive bumpers, muscular side skirts and a quad exhaust setup. There's also large vents and bigger alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
The new GLA 45 AMG will go on sale in the United States this fall with prices to be announced.
