Buying or leasing a vehicle on the Motability scheme is easier than ever - it's simply a case or assessing your eligibility and then finding a dealer who is part of the Motability scheme. What's more, there are hundreds of vehicles available to you, such as the small but chic Ford Fiesta, the comfortable and refined Audi A4, and the adrenaline inducing Mazda MX-5.
But what about vehicles that are designed for ease of access, comfort, and maximum safety?
If that's what you're after, perhaps the Mercedes-Benz Vito will tickle your fancy.
The Mercedes-Benz Vito is available from Bristol Street Versa, and it is quite possibly the best looking vehicle of its type. On a 5-year Motability lease, the advanced payment costs £10,095 (subject to change).
My favourite version is the affordable 113 CDi 2.1-liter version, which comes with lots of equipment, including air conditioning, and inside it's all made to an exceptional quality, with soft touch materials everywhere you look and touch.
In terms of access, the Vito is excellent - not only is the interior spacious, comfortable and welcoming, but the vehicle benefits from sliding doors and rear access.
Let's be clear - this is a Mercedes-Benz. The company have done a fantastic job of making access a key selling point, but buyers will immediately notice the quality of this vehicle first and foremost. It has OEM quality trim and soft headlining and recessed lighting throughout.
For peace of mind Mercedes-Benz ships the Vito with a 3-year warranty, and also 2-year free Mercedes breakdown cover. It also has an electronic engine immobiliser and an alarm.
Competitor wise, the Mercedes-Benz Vito is in the same market as the Renault Trafic and Fiat Doblo - both of these vehicles are cheaper than the Vito, but you get what you pay for, with the Vito being a much higher quality inside. On the move, the Vito is also smoother, and all-round it's a nicer place to be on long journeys.
So, then, the Mercedes-Benz Vito - if you're in need of a vehicle that offers loads of space and practicability, combined with luxury and comfort, you can do little better. Competitors such as the Fiat Doblo may be cheaper, but the Italian competitors offering doesn't have the same road presence or quality that the Germans have managed to create.
In conclusion, I recommend the Mercedes-Benz Vito wholeheartedly for anybody on the Motability scheme that needs a vehicle that's going to last for a very long time. There are great deals to be had on this vehicle and so I recommend shopping around for best value for money.
