According to a recent report, the Lamborghini Gallardo successor will reportedly adopt the Huracan name and eschew the Cabrera moniker.
Auto Express says the Italian supercar maker trademarked the name on April 19, 2012 and it will be used on the highly anticipated Gallardo successor. Huracan is Mayan for the god of fire, wind and storms, and was then adopted by the Spanish to mean hurricane.
Built on a new aluminium spaceframe platform, the Huracan is expected to use a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine which creates approximately 600 hp. It will likely be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that could allow the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
