David Appleby Engineering has announced they will become the first Bentley Continental GT3 customer team to take delivery of the new racecar.
Set to compete under the Generation Bentley Racing banner, the Continental GT3 will be driven by James Appleby (GB) and Steve Tandy (GB) in the British GT Championship in 2014. It will make its racing debut at the opening round of the British GT Championship taking place at Oulton Park on April 19.
Bentley Motorsport Director Brian Gush said "I am delighted that David and his team will be competing with the Continental GT3 in our home country in 2014. The team has a wealth of experience and I'm confident that their energy and professionalism will see some very encouraging results next year. We'll be supporting them every step of the way and I wish them every success in the British GT Championship."
Introduced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed back in July, the Continental GT3 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which produces 600 hp. It is mated to a six-speed Xtrac sequential transmission that could ensure the 1,300 kg race car is significantly faster than its road-going Continental.
