Porsche lovers are in for a treat with a 53-acre ‘experience center’ that is coming near Los Angeles, California. The Porsche Experience Center is being built on a site that was previously home to a golf course. This adult amusement park is set to open in December 2014.
At the Porsche Experience Center, Porsche owners and lovers will be able to learn how to skid through corners and to try their luck on rain-slick pavement and simulated ice. Porsche lovers who want supercar experiences will be able to test the maximum speed limits of their Porsches here. There will be a 740-yard straightaway that will have a “launch control” feature for maximum acceleration.

It will also include garages where collectable Porsches will be restored. According to Detlev von Platen who is the CEO of Porsche cars of North America, "The driver is in the centre of our strategy. You will not find this anywhere else."
The center is expected to cost $28.7 million. Other than the tracks and the garages, the center will also have video race-car driving competition pods, a fitness center, and an 85-seat restaurant to cater for Porsche fans and owners.
The Porsche Experience Center will be home to Porsche Motor Sports. Porsche dealers will advertise their cars and build enthusiasm by having would-be owners drive their Porsches on the tracks. The track has a daily capacity of 100 drivers.
There is little to see on the tracks at the moment – only soil and a 30-foot Fiberglass man on the San Diego Freeway. The 30-foot Fiberglass man has been christened the “Muffler Man”. The Muffler Man has a rich history which began in the 60s when muffler shops bought 30-foot Fiberglass men and dressed them up as their work crew. The Muffler Man is in a racing suit in the new track. Graders are doing their jobs transforming the golf course to a Porsche lover’s paradise.
