In a recent interview, Steve Saleen has mentioned that his company was working on a new supercar as a follow-up to the Saleen S7.
Speaking at the launch of the SA-30 Anniversary Editions at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Saleen told Autoblog "We haven't forgotten about the supercar genre. We are working on what we'll call the S8 and the continuation of the American supercar."
He declined to reveal any actual details, but the car is expected to be unveiled within the next two years and will take over where the S5S Raptor concept left off. As you may recall, the S5S is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with 650 hp and 853 Nm torque. This enabled the car to sprint from 0-96 km/h in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 321 km/h.
