Japanese carmaker Nissan has officially unveiled the 2015 GT-R, ahead of its debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

Accordingly, the updated GT-R will go on sale in Japan on December 2, followed by sales at Nissan dealerships in other markets worldwide. It promises to offer "a new level of sophistication" yet with no compromise in performance.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2015 GT-R is distinguished by high-intensity multi-LED headlights, revised taillights and a new body color called Gold Flake Red Pearl.

Inside, the cabin comes with a new pale ivory trim option and semi-aniline leather seats with stitched accents.

On the handling front, the GT-R’s suspension has been fine-tuned to reduce load fluctuation between the four wheels, giving better stability and more consistent grip. Nissan has also optimized electronic control of the shock-absorber valves and modified front stabilizer spring rates and bush link, providing the car an enhanced road-holding capability.

Other updates include a revised steering system, an improved braking system and new standard Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT tires which promise "outstanding road-holding and precise response in all conditions."
