Cadillac has recently released performance specifications for the 2014 ELR that will go on sale in January.
According to the American carmaker, the $75,995 ELR has a 1.4-liter petrol engine, a 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor which creates a maximum output of 217 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This allows the coupe to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.8 seconds (8.8 seconds in EV mode) and hit a top speed of 170 km/h.
The ELR can travel approximately 60 km on electricity alone and about 555 km on a full tank of gas and a full charge. Cadillac says the battery can be recharged in approximately 12.5 - 18 hours with a 120V charger or about five hours with a 240V charging station.
