HID lamps are now the lighting source of choice for car enthusiasts. People who want efficiency and performance choose HID over halogen lamps. However people do not know enough about HID lamps and often do not understand the purpose of the Auto Hid Xenon Ballast. This is a very important device which is required in order to use HID bulbs. It is not possible to simply replace halogen bulbs with HID bulbs.
The reason behind this will be clear once you understand the purpose of the Auto Hid Xenon Ballast. Halogen lamps worked by passing energy through a filament which lighted up due to the energy. HID lights have Xenon gas in them which is ignited and this gas burns much brighter that the halogen filament could. The ballast is required to provide the high amount of energy required to blast this gas.
Once the gas has been ignited the ballast is required to maintain energy output. While a high amount of energy is required to ignite the bulb once ignited a low amount of energy is required to maintain the lighting. The Auto Hid Xenon Ballast makes sure your HID bulbs get the required amount of energy and thus they lead to better energy efficiency.
Why you need an auto Xenon Kit?
HID lights are become more and more common as time passes. They look great, give a good amount of light and are more efficient than the older types of lighting. More people are trying to install HID’s in their cars which is also resulting in more confusion. When installing an auto HID Xenon Kit is required. It is not possible to simply replace the halogen bulbs with HID bulbs. The reason behind this is that HIDs require a different setup to work in.
Halogen lamps simply worked on the voltage provided by the car. HID lights require the use of a device called ‘ballast’. This is included in an auto HID Xenon Kit. HID lights need to be ignited because they work on Xenon gas stored inside the bulb. Halogen lamps simply passed energy through a filament in the bulb. HIDs ignite the gas inside the bulb which leads to a brighter light. While igniting takes a good amount of voltage once ignited it required very little voltage to continue running.
Thus when you get an auto HID Xenon Kit you will not only get the bulbs, you will also get the ballast, the ballast holders, the screws, wires and everything else needed to make sure your HID lamps work correctly.
