The Audi TT that rapidly shot to stardom at its 1998 debut and has consistently shone ever since has now been delivered to over 500,000 customers worldwide. To commemorate this sale milestone, the German carmaker will offer a special edition based on the TTS named the Competition.
Only 500 units will be made, of which 120 units are for the United Kingdom. The TTS Competition is available in Nimbus grey (coupe) or Imola yellow (roadster) and features a TT RS-inspired fixed rear spoiler and 19-inch five-arm alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin comes with an individually-numbered plaque and Impulse grey leather seats with grey and yellow baseball stitching. Other highlights include a DVD-based satellite navigation, a Bluetooth mobile phone interface, a Bose audio system, Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod connection and an interior lighting package.
Under the hood, the TTS Competition is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI 4-cylinder engine which produces 272 hp and 350 Nm of torque. When mated to the optional six-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, the coupe can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Currently available for order, the Audi TTS Competition has a starting price of £38,860 for the coupe and £42,320 for the roadster.
